What’s New in Dynamics 365 Business Central Wave 1 2022

The goal of Microsoft's D365 Business Central 2022 release wave 1 is to boost user productivity through in-app enhancements while also strengthening the Help page's capabilities to make it a go-to resource for both new and existing clients.


The following are some important areas of improvement:


Application

  • Microsoft will respond to popular demands for advancements in this area. Business Central's finance and supply chain capabilities have been enhanced with various improvements, allowing users to execute business tasks more efficiently.

Better with Microsoft 365

  • In 2022 release wave 1, Microsoft improves the efficiency of collaborative business processes. Improvements include Microsoft Teams integration, Outlook add-ins, OneDrive file sharing, and integration with Excel.

Reporting

  • Reporting improvements include new capabilities for financial reporting with account schedules, new pages for report layout administration, and a new report layout design feature in Excel.

Development

  • Developers will benefit from event enhancements, new Telemetry features, and other tooling possibilities.

Administration

  • Business Central release wave 1 in 2022 includes a collection of enhancements aimed at making it easier for partners to manage tenants and administrators to manage licensing and permissions.

Power Platform:

  • Microsoft expands Power Automate's capabilities, making it considerably easier to configure workflows for a company's specific needs.

Onboarding

  • Customers can use the new modern Help pane in 2022 release wave 1 to get to productive usage faster. Microsoft intends to onboard customers and new users using context-aware links in the Help pane, which is a significant focus in every release wave.
